Saki Mafundikwa

Director and Founder,
Zimbabwe Institute of Vigital Arts,
ZIMBABWE


He is the Director and Founder of Zimbabwe Institute of Vigital Arts (ZIVA), Zimbabwe's first design and new media college, and holds an MFA in Graphic Design from Yale University. He worked for twelve years as a designer in New York City, including as art director at Random House before founding ZIVA. He authored the groundbreaking book Afrikan Alphabets and directed the award-winning film Shungu: The Resilience of a People (2009), which has screened on three continents. He was a speaker at TED2013 in Los Angeles in February and is currently working on the first Afrikan Design Text book. He lives in Harare, Zimbabwe.
