Benard Acellam became interested in the built environment right from childhood, even before being aware that its creators were called Architects. He is now interested in the economic, social and environmental sustainability of the built, social and natural environments. He is a 3rd year Bachelor of Architecture student at Makerere University in Kampala, Uganda.

He won the Berkeley Prize Travel Fellowship in 2011 and considers that event to be a turning point in his life. That gave him the confidence to participate in this year’s international conference: “Re-imagining Inclusive Urbanization: People Building Better Cities” and Global Studio in Bhopal, India.

In addition to his love for building he likes writing and traveling.
