Mabel Simpson

CEO,
mSimps,
GHANA

In August 2010, Mabel resigned from her office job to set up mSimps, a fashion accessory company with a capital of GHS200 (USD100). mSimps manufactures hand-made accessories such as handbags, dress and hair brooches, laptop bags, shoes and other accessories using African prints. The goal of mSimps is to produce quality hand-made Made-In-Ghana products with African prints. It also aims to make its customers proud to wear African outfits, which are a work of creativity, innovation and products of excellence. mSimps currently has agents in South Africa, USA and Canada who stock and sell on its behalf.

Mabel was one of the 10 finalists in the Joy Fm My Business 2011. In 2012 she took part in the Enablis / UT BANK Business LaunchPad competition in which she was the 2nd runner up. The participation allowed her to receive support from Enablis Ghana through training programmes and recommendations which eventually took her to Nigeria to introduce her products to the larger market there. mSimps has largely garnered support via local and international media publicity.
