David joined Business Partners limited in 1994 (then still known as the Small Business Development Corporation) as a Senior Business Development Officer in the Information and Marketing Division. Since then he has grown through the ranks up to the current position he holds of General Manager: Marketing & Communication Services. David attained a Bachelor of Arts in Economics as well as a Senior Education Diploma from Vista University. He also earned a Marketing Management and Research Certificate through the Bureau of Market Research at the University of South Africa.

The array of other certificates that David acquired to date include the Dale Carniege Customer Relations Certificate; Principles of Public Relations through Damelin; Time Management and Adult Basic Education Certificates; and How to Start Your Own Business Certificate through SBDC. David was also fortunate to enjoy a stint at the International University of Japan where he was exposed to the Japanese approach to small and medium enterprises development.

David's early career includes a brief stint as a teacher. He taught at the Alexandra Adult Centre for two years and for another two at the St Andrews School Adult Tuition Programme. David also passed on some knowledge to the pupils at the Alexandra High School as an Economics teacher - with fond memories - because he matriculated at this school - and later worked as Assistant Manager: Human Resources at the Alexandra City Council where he spent five years.

In June 1999 he was invited to the United States of America on a multi-regional programme to expose individuals from developing economies to Entrepreneurship in the US, through the Small Business Administration programmes.
